PUERTO FICCI: THE PLACE FOR AUDIOVISUAL GROWTH

Now in its third year, Puerto FICCI is an important space which aims to help good ideas grow into great productions, bringing together a number of initiatives aimed at increasing interaction between different members of the audiovisual industry and helping them succeed.

Last year, Puerto FICCI received 300 participants from 20 countries, including directors, producers, actors, programmers, distributors, exhibitors, composers, festival directors, academics, film critics and more. It is hoped that 2017 will see a greater number of visitors to this vital platform for industry professionals to make contact, share ideas and projects and seek financial support for post-production, distribution, exhibition and other aspects which will help turn their dreams into reality.
Some of the initiatives which will take place at Puerto FICCI are:

  • Puerto Lab Work in Progress: Five projects under development by Ibero-American directors who are seeking financing in order to complete their productions.
  • XII Encuentro Internacional de Productores: With the aim of making their feature-length fiction films competitive in the international market, this workshop, run by the Colombian Ministry of Culture, aims to offer advice and skills to 12 film producers.
  • Taller de Documental: Two documentary workshops. One will be run by Jorge Caballero Ramos, the director of Paciente, and the other will be headed by Spain’s Marta Andreu.
  • Taller de Crítica y Periodismo Cinematográfico: Ten students will benefit from this training workshop which provides crucial skills for becoming a film critic and journalist for cinema. Led by Argentine Diego Lerer.
  • Café Puerto FICCI: A daily round table which will see industry experts share a coffee as well as their knowledge on specific themes.
  • Networking Time: a space for discussing potential alliances and joint projects.
  • Videolibrería: accredited visitors will have access to a video library which includes all the films from the official selection.

All of the Puerto FICCI activities will take place in the AECID’s locations.
